Internship Title: Business Development Intern

Company Description: Vox Aeris is on a mission to make clean indoor air an accessible right through advanced purification technologies. We are an early stage company, focused on an innovative acoustic-based pre-filtration technology aimed at improving particulate matter capture and reducing energy consumption in commercial ventilation systems, while also exploring other application areas. Vox Aeris is a solo-founder company, meaning that the intern will the be first addition to our team!

Description of Role:

Vox Aeris is embarking on a critical phase of business development, focusing on further market research and customer discovery for our air purification technology. As a Business Development Intern, you will work closely with the founder and be responsible for exploring the current market landscape, go-to-market strategy, and identifying and engaging with potential partners and stakeholders. As we are working on technical product, applicants from engineering backgrounds or a strong technical understanding are also encouraged to apply.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact tech device that directly contributes to the improvement of air quality. You will gain valuable experience in market research and business development of a hardware product, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication, while developing insights into the strategic decision-making process of an early stage startup. You will have the chance to shape the future direction of our technology and be part of a mission-driven company dedicated to improving indoor air quality and reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the founder to build out strategy and project planning.

  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research in the commercial HVAC subcategory.

  • Customer Discovery: Engage in customer discovery, reaching out to potential customers, gathering feedback, and building relationships.

  • Data Analysis: Compile and analyze market data and stakeholder interactions to provide insights and recommendations.

  • Business Development Support: Identify and help with opportunities such as grants, funding opportunities, and competitions, and research potential partners to establish initial contact.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and partners.

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Assist in the development and refinement of the company's go-to-market strategy.

  • Opportunity Identification: Identify other potential application areas, business opportunities and partnerships that align with the company’s objectives.

  • Creative Campaigns: Help with content creation regarding the company's clean air mission. Ideate on a creative campaign focused on indoor air quality awareness.

Required skills/abilities

  • Currently enrolled in a UK based university and will be enrolled during the course of the internship

  • Passion for deep tech, sustainability or improving air quality.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to conduct thorough market research and analyze data.

  • Ability to find, reach out and conduct customer interviews and gather feedback

  • Proficiency in using market research tools and software.

Preferred skills/abilities

  • Enrolled in Postgraduate/ Master's level course

  • Experience in business development or market research for technical products.

  • Familiarity with the HVAC or air purification industry.

  • Skills in customer relationship management.

  • Knowledge of market research strategies and tools.

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Compensation: £13.15 per hour via a monthly bursary based on hours contributed towards the project.
